Court Barony
On April 11, 2009, I received my Court Barony from Darius IV & Alethea. Mistress Nicolette produced the scroll and a beautiful leather diadem for the occasion.
The Scroll
Some time ago Mistress Nicolette swore off taking any more scroll assignments, but apparently she insisted that she be allowed to do mine. I cannot even begin to say how deeply flattered I am by this.
Not only did she do a beautiful job with the illustration, but she even went so far as to collaborate with a native Tamil speaker to get the scroll translated.
TextGreetings unto the subjects of the King of the East from Great King Darius and Wise Queen Alethea. We have seen the generous service of Our faithful subject Irayari Vairavi to Ourselves and Our illustrious Ancestors as retainer and scholar.
In honor of her many noble and selfless attributes do We confer upon her the dignity and splendor of the title of Baroness.
We do this on the eleventh day of April 2009.

maerpadi pattam 2009 aam aandu ,april maadam 11aam naal vazhanga padugiradhu
1 As far as I can tell, this translates to something along the lines of "respected person of the minor(?) palace".
The image on the scroll is based on a 12th c. sculpture of a celestial dancer in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The Diadem / Coronet
Mistress Nicolette based the diadem on a 9th-10th c. Indian or Pakistani example, also in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is stamped leather with a variety of beads attached and suspended. The white and green pieces seen in the picture are paper jasmine flowers, and are not attached to the diadem.
