The project titled Uttarakhand State Wide Area Network (UKSWAN) is will provide a reliable, resilient and a secure backbone to meet the information requirements and associated services.The State of Uttarakhand being an IT Hub has done exceptionally well in rolling out large e-Governance applications across the state up to the block level. Large number of Government to citizens' initiatives (G2C),Government to Government (G2G) and Government to Business (G2B) projects are operational.
UKSWAN Architecture: Logically divided into two network segments.
Vertical Segment: The Vertical segment of UKSWAN is compossed of a total of 134 Vertical PoPs classified as:
1 SHQ PoP (State Head Quarter - SHQ.)
13 DHQ PoPs (1 at each District of the state)
120 THQ/BHQ PoPs (Tehail & Block Head Quater)
Horizontal Segment: Under Horizontal segment of UKSWAN it is proposed to initially connect 1505 Horizontal offices across the state and subsequently more offices may be connected as when required.
