RCX400

Known issues on RCX400/LX400 line.

• • Hot swap of handcontroller to telescope rear panel not possible - Handcontroller will lit but no carracters visible.

    • No solution available at this moment (Okt 2011) - replacement of print possible only solution.

  • Scope will not find home position - Scope keeps leveling.

    • Lint cable from level sensor broke 1 wire - replace lint cable.

  • Dec motor stuck

    • Caused by tightening the manual knob

  • RA motor stalls when connected to USB.

    • Possible caused by low power supply. (min 5 a 6 Amp's)

  • Focuser / collimating issues -

    • • 2 types:

        • Power issue - cuurent draw is high for this scope use at least 12 VDC and 10Amp capable supply.

        • Focuser motor defect. - analyses will follow.

  • Sudden restart or RA motor stall - most of the time caused by power supply when using telescope with USB hube to computer. 10 Amp minimum.

  • DEC backlash values. Reported sometimes to be more than 200%. Mine is set to 100%. so backlash is evident in this scope.

    • Investigated the worm gear but no play here. Backlash seems to sit in the gearbox of the DC motor. No solution available right now.
