About Us

Psychology students at the University of St. Thomas will experience an integrated approach to learning, including areas of applied research and research methods, social justice and the study of behavioral and biological aspects of the human person. The psychology curriculum includes the following components:

• Social justice – The inherent dignity of every person is integral to every psychology class with some classes offering a specific social justice component as a class requirement.
• Service-Learning – Some psychology classes will require that students volunteer in the community in order to apply theoretical learning to daily life experiences.
• Science Foundation – Students will receive a strong science foundation through instruction in scientific psychology and biological bases of behavior.
• Internships – Psychology student will have the option to complete an internship as a capstone experience. Internships are available at a variety of local nonprofit organizations and medical facilities.

Psychology Student Organizations

Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology. Undergraduate students are invited to join the chapter at University of St. Thomas once they have accrued the necessary credit hours in psychology and grade point average requirements. The Psi Chi chapter at UST is actively engaged in campus and community events.

We recognize academic scholarship and nurture the creative spark of scholarship and research through discussions, lectures, and by promoting undergraduate research.
