Welcome to this WebQuest. What is a WebQuest you ask? A WebQuest usually involves students working in teams where they take on specialized roles to help the team gather and analyze information from the Web, library resources and individuals. The team has a task to complete which often means using the information to come up with a product or proposal that solves a problem, gives advice and/or offers a new perspective on a topic. The product/proposal is usually presented to the class which pretends to be an adult group like the United Nations, the president, city officials, etc. Let's get started!

Your team has been hired by President Obama to perform a very important job. Ambassadors and their families from nations all over the world are constantly moving to Washington DC. To help them learn about the United States, President Obama would like your team of economists, sociologists, historians, and geographers to prepare a vodcast to introduce the new families to the regions of the United States. The new families will be able to watch your vodcast from overseas so they can start learning about the US before their arrival. Your team will be assigned to research and then report on one of the following regions.
Note: The maximum number of states a student is to research is two. It is OK to not research them all.
