Why the title "The catcher in the Rye"?
He likes children better than grown-ups, because he thinks adults are phoneys. Also, he couldn't save his brother Allie, so he wants to save other children. Wants to help the world. The catcher in the rye is a metaphor for the Garden of Eden and the fall of man.
