The following requirements include those who attend the 'John Jay Judo Club' and 'Bronx Judo'
The following links present the techniques of Kodokan Judo in a clear and precise manner:

White belt to Yellow Belt (Rokkyu)
1. Forward roll and (ukemi waza) breakfalls
2. Backward roll and (ukemi waza) break falls
3. Sideway (ukemi waza) break falls.
4. At least 2 joint locks (kensetsu waza)
5. At least 4 throwing Techniques (nage waza)
6. At least 2 choking techniques (shime waza)
7. At least 4 hold-down techniques (osaekomi waza)
Yellow belt to Orange Belt(Gokyu)
1. At least 3 joint locks (kensetsu waza)
2. At least 8 throwing Techniques (nage waza)
3. At least 3 choking techniques (shime waza)
4. At least 5 hold-down techniques (osaekomi waza)
ORANGE belt to GREEN Belt(Yonkyu)
1. At least 12 throwing techniques (nage waza)
2. At least 5 hold-downs (osaekomi waza)
3. At least 4 choking techniques (shime waza)
4. At least 4 joint locks (kensetsu waza)
GREEN belt to BROWN(Sankyo)
1. At least 18 throwing techniques (nage waza)
2. At least 7 hold-downs (osaekomi waza)
3. At least 5 joint locks (kensetsu waza)
4. At least 6 choking techniques (shime waza)
Brown belt to Black(Shodan)
1. At least 32 throwing techniques (nage waza)
2. At least 10 hold-downs (osaekomi waza)
3. At least 10 joint locks (kensetsu waza)
4. At least 12 choking techniques (shime waza)
