• PhD POSITIONS IN EXPERIMENTAL QUANTUM COMMUNICATION, QUANTUM OPTICS, QUANTUM INFORMATION AND QUANTUM COMPUTATION :

• We have several ongoing international and national collaborations in this area covering projects on quantum measurements including weak measurements, higher dimensional quantum computing and quantum communication, studies on entanglement dynamics and quantum correlations, fundamental experimental and theoretical studies in quantum mechanics, secure quantum communications including satellite based quantum key distribution, quantum relay and repeater technologies as well as integrated photonics based quantum technologies . Students with passion, eagerness to learn and ability to work in co-operation with fellow lab colleagues as well as collaborators on challenging problems are encouraged to write to me for consideration. Entry will be through usual RRI PhD entrance routes.

• Students who have already obtained their PhD or are about to finish their PhD are encouraged to apply for postdoctoral positions in my lab. Students with background in experiments, especially experimental optics are encouraged to apply.

• Students interested in short term projects are encouraged to enroll for the Visiting Student Program. I would generally encourage VSP positions of six months to a year. VSP students who perform exceptionally during their tenure at RRI may be promoted to the position of a research assistant. A research assistant is a two year research position with additional perks and benefits. I do not have any more VSP openings in my lab for this year. Students who have some objective reasons for wanting to work in our areas of research may still write to me and I can deal with a few such cases on a case by case basis.
