JAPAN EXCHANGE PROGRAM NOMINATION APPLICATION:
Deadline: Wed. November 30, 2017
What is Japan Exchange Program? How is it different from Study Abroad?
Japan Exchange Program is operated under agreements with the University of Nevada, Reno’s partner institutions in Japan. Students pay tuition at the University of Nevada, Reno, and there are no tuition charges from the partner university. Students from partner institutions attend here on the same agreement and general cooperation is fostered between our institutions. We currently have agreements with the following three institutions in Japan.
・Hiroshima University
・Kanazawa University
・University of Ryukyus
・ Hosei University
・ Meiji University
Who is eligible to attend an exchange program? And on what criteria are students selected for nomination to the exchange program?
• University of Ryukyus require, and other partner institutions prefer students who are sophomores or higher at time of participating in the program. Also students who can participate a full year will be given priority over students who want to participate only for a semester.
• Overall GPA (2.5 required, 3.0 or higher preferred)
• Letter of Interest
• Letters of recommendation (by 2 academic professors)
PLEASE NOTE: Nomination is granted based upon a combination of the criteria listed above. For example, you will be a more competitive applicant if you have a highGPA AND if you submit a compelling letter of interest, AND you have very strong letters of recommendation.
