SCHOOL NAME UPDATE

At the RCSD Board meeting on Wednesday, 6/17, the Board voted to approve the name Adelante Selby Spanish Immersion School. This was a challenging school year for parents and students, as we experienced the joys and growing pains of our newly merged community (not to mention what March threw at us). We are excited to move forward with our official name, and to continue promoting and supporting the education and welfare of all Adelante Selby students.

We wanted to make you aware of 2 opportunities to purchase books, support a small business (LA Librería), and support our school (through Scholastic).

LA Librería

You can purchase Spanish books through LA Librería. We normally hold a book fair in the Spring using this company, and the current shut down has been challenging for them. They specialize in imported books from publishing houses in Latin America and Spain. They are offering free shipping on all book purchases! www.la-libreria.net

Scholastic Online Book Fair

Scholastic is offering a virtual Book Fair with books available in English and Spanish. Book-only purchases of $25 or more will receive free shipping. Our school will receive a portion of the proceeds from each sale.

YEARBOOKS

Please note that due to COVID-19, yearbook printing and distribution has been delayed. Yearbooks for the 2019-20 school year are available, and will be a tangible way to look back on this challenging time in our children’s lives. It’s not to late to purchase one here, and 2019-20 yearbooks will be distributed in August.

RCSD SUMMER LEARNING PACKETS

The RCSD Summer Learning Units are optional learning opportunities for students. The Thematic Units are meant to engage students during the summer break.

ACTUALIZACIÓN DEL NOMBRE DE LA ESCUELA

En la reunión de la Junta directiva de RCSD el miércoles 6/17, la Junta votó para aprobar el nombre de Adelante Selby Spanish Immersion School. Este fue un año escolar difícil para padres y estudiantes, ya que pasamos las alegrías y los dolores de desarrollo de nuestra comunidad recién unida (sin mencionar lo que marzo nos trajo). Estamos emocionados de seguir adelante con nuestro nombre oficial y continuar promoviendo y apoyando la educación y el bienestar de todos los estudiantes de Adelante Selby.

Puede comprar libros en español a través de LA Librería. Normalmente celebramos una feria del libro en la primavera con esta compañía, y el cierre actual ha sido un desafío para ellos. Se especializan en libros importados de editoriales en América Latina y España. ¡Están ofreciendo envío gratis en todas las compras de libros! www.la-libreria.net

Feria de libros en línea de Scholastic

Scholastic ofrece una feria de libros virtual con libros disponibles en inglés y español. Las compras de solo $ 25 o más recibirán envío gratis. Nuestra escuela recibirá una parte de los ingresos de cada venta.

ANUARIOS

Tenga en cuenta que debido a COVID-19, la impresión y distribución del anuario se ha retrasado. Los anuarios para el año escolar 2019-20 están disponibles y serán una forma tangible de mirar hacia atrás en este momento desafiante en la vida de nuestros hijos. No es demasiado tarde para comprar uno aquí, y los anuarios 2019-20 se distribuirán en agosto.

PAQUETES DE APRENDIZAJE DE VERNO DE RCSD

Las unidades de aprendizaje de verano de RCSD son oportunidades de aprendizaje opcionales para los estudiantes. Las Unidades Temáticas están destinadas a involucrar a los estudiantes durante las vacaciones de verano.
