The 1800's were a time of great change for all in Ireland and the McCorkell family were part of this turmoil, following the relative stability of mid to late 1700's the 19th century started in much the same vein. There was a population explosion in Ireland and as can be seen from the records large families amongst the McCorkells were the rule of the day.
Inishowen and Londonderry where most of the McCorkells were living at this time was not to severely effected by the famine, but several families took the opportunity to escape the endless struggle of the times, some to Scotland (in fact there were almost 200,000 Irish recorded in the 1851 Scottish census) and most eventually on to Canada and the USA. Following in the footsteps of their ancestors in the previous century. Others migrated to Australia which began to open up in the mid 1800's.

Tithe Applotment Books
The earliest 19th century records I can find are the Tithe Applotment lists from the 1820s, these were lists of tenants (or owners) of land in each townland who paid tax on their land for the upkeep of the Church of Ireland, the list I have here is far from complete but is a good census substitute for the period.
Below is a list of Tithe records for McCorkell's taken from a PPV genealogy site, as I come across the full records for these entries I will fill in the missing Townland and Parish data.

Minutes
At a vestry held at the Parish Church of Taughboyne on the 28th day of Jany 1813 pursuant to publick notice for the purpose of laying on money on the Parish to reimburse Mr Pinkerton and Mr McCorkle the several sums expended by them on sending off deserted children to the Foundling Hospital Dublin it appears to the Parishioners here assembled that Mr Pinkerton has expended in clothing, nursing and sending one (crossed out writing) the sum of £3.13.9 paid by J Pinkerton
also to Mr McCorkle for the like sum of £3.8.10 paid by Mr McCorkle
this money to be applotted with the several sums £60.14.0
laid on at last Easter vestry making in all the sum of £67.16.7
This to be applotted immediately and levied.
Local Presbyterians were involved with the running of the vestry as they saw it as their duty as part of the local community, Samuel McCorkell above was therefore probably a Presbyterian although he appears to be a member of a COI vestry
1831 Census County Londonderry
The 1831 Census Returns provide a unique record of family names in the county for the period before the Famine. As far as I know, Londonderry is the only county in Ireland that has such a source. Below is an index of McCorkell heads of household in the Census when I get the opportunity I will update these records to include all the information available.

DIED.
On the 4th inst., aged 48 years, Mr. Robert M'CORKELL, Abbey-street, Derry. Deceased for several years filled the situation of manager in the printing department of the "Derry Journal" -- the same establishment in which his apprenticeship had been originally served. In private, deceased was so kind and amiable that he may be said to have died without an enemy, as was testified by the large assemblage, or all ranks and denominations, who accompanied his remains to the Cathedral burying-ground on Tuesday morning last.

Rev Joseph Mac Corkell
Buried at Clar cemetery, Redcastle Co. Donegal, he was the
serving minister at Moville Presbyterian Ch towards the end of the 19C and for first 3 decades of the 20C. His age in the 1911 Census puts his birth year either 1856 or 1857, his birthplace is recorded as Donegal. He was married appox. 1885/86 to Jane ?? whose birthplace is given as Rosscommon in the 1911 census. I have found a mention of the Rev. in the book, 'A History of the Presbyterian Church in Dublin and the south-west of Ireland' (1890) "He was succeeded by the present minister.
Rev. Joseph McCorkell, licentiate of the Presbytery of Derry, who was ordained to the pastorate of Creggs and Roscommon, August ist, 1882. " Not sure what year he became minister of Moville.
He was the son of John McCorkell and Mary Ann Fleming, John was a farmer from Skeog, Burt, Donegal and later Killea, he was the son of another John McCorkell who had a large farm of over 100 acres in 1857. I have found his photo amongst a collection belonging to the McCorkell family of Ballyarrent (Shipping McCorkells) so there must be a connection between the families that I was unaware of.( Needs further investigation)
Griffith's Valuation
Scan of Original Griffiths valuation page
By the end of the 1800's the family was well established in County Londonderry as well as county Donegal with a few scattered families throughout the rest if the Island, by the mid 1800's detailed records began to become available, although the census records are lost civil registration in the middle of the century gives us for the first time detailed records of the families whereabouts and distribution.
Griffiths 1857 Valuation gives much detail for family location and relative value of house and land.
