A partnership with VC STEM at CSUCI
University Preparation Charter School recently partnered with CSUCI's VC STEM organization to become the first school in California to conduct our own trash assessment survey process to be in compliance with a new law set to go into effect in 2020. UPCS's 6th grade students worked with undergraduates from the chemistry and environmental science departments to develop and enact protocols to assess the litter on our campus, analyze the data collected, and propose systemic changes to alleviate our school's contribution to storm drain litter.
