Apply for our EMR class! Applications close Saturday, October 2nd.
Apply for the UCEMS Unit
The UCEMS Unit welcomes all students (undergraduate, graduate, medical, etc.) and only requires that you hold a certification to be an EMS provider (EMR or above). New members are accepted at the beginning of every quarter during the academic year.
If you are interested in joining but do not have the necessary certification, UCEMS offers a quarter long EMR course (see Get Involved -> EMR Class).
After applying you will be contacted via email at the beginning of the following quarter.
Accepted applicants enter the unit as a Responder-in-Training, and, depending on their competence and mastery of skills and protocols, will move at their own pace to be an active Responder. Responders-in-Training will have to attend mandatory weekly drills every Sunday from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm. These drills will serve as extensive reviews covering the management of cardiac, medical, and trauma emergencies to NREMT/NREMR standards. Once the Responder-in-Training has completed the advancement requirements, they will be eligible to become active Responders. All Responders-in-Training will be expected to advance to the active status within two academic quarters.
