About

UBC YAACS

YAACS, or Young Adults and Children's Services, is a section of the British Columbia Library Association (BCLA). YAACS promotes the exchange of ideas among library personnel who work with Children and Young Adults, and they advocate to governments, outside groups, and the BCLA on behalf of youth librarians. UBC YAACS is the student chapter of YAACS at the University of British Columbia School of Information (UBC iSchool). We connect students at the iSchool with the BCLA YAACS organization, promote events related to literature and services for Young Adults and Children, and provide opportunities to network with fellow students and professionals interested in youth services.

For other clubs, visit the UBC LASSA iSchool Club webpage.

Visit our Events page for the next meeting or contact us at ubcyaacs@gmail.com to sign up for the mailing list.

This Site

This site was created by students for students. It is meant to be a collection of resources useful to students in the MLIS or MACL program at UBC that have an interest in children's literature and services for children and teens. We've provided information about events of interest, resources, and organizations related to children's services.
