THE UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD AGE (U3A)

1st age = schooling; 2nd age = career; 3rd age = retirement

U LOOK, U LISTEN, U LEARN

U3A is a worldwide organization which consists of people who come together

to share knowledge, skills and experience in an informal association.

Small groups also meet to study and discuss a particular subject under the guidance of a Course leader.

At our regular monthly meetings we have very well informed people speaking on a wide variety of subjects.

Workshops and group outings are also popular.

NO ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS ARE NECESSARY,

                                       AND NO MARKS ARE AWARDED!

AT U3A LEARNING IS A PLEASURE.

Our General Meetings are normally held on the last Wednesday of each month

in the Lecture Hall of the Emmaüs Centre starting at 10:00 (tea and biscuits) for 10:30.

At each of these meetings we hear from a knowledgeable speaker

on a topic that we expect will be of interest to our members and guests.

During the course of each month we hold a variety of lectures and courses

at various venues.

Due to Emmaüs being closed for bi-annual holidays we do not meet
from mid December to mid January
nor from mid June to mid July
for meetings that are normally held at Emmaüs.

We send out a monthly Newsletter (see tab above) to our members showing forthcoming events and courses.

The subscription rates per annum are:

R  60,00 per single person using email,

R  95,00 per single person using postage

R  90,00 per couple using email

     R125,00 per couple using postage

In addition, R5,00 per person is payable at each session attended.
