How do join the Biometrics Working Group?
All are welcome to join our BWG community! Just login to your TWS account, then hover over the Membership tab and select "Add Organization Unit Membership" on the splash page. Under "Working Groups," select "Add Working Groups." Select "Biometrics Working Group" and pay the $5 membership fee, which is used to support many of our BWG activities!
How do I join and email the TWS Biometrics Working Group Google Group Listserv?
Once you have become a paid BWG member through TWS, we will you to the BWG google group listserv - which is our primary method for communicating with membership throughout the year. The BWG Executive Board will receive an update of new paid members approximately quarterly and will update the listserv accordingly with new members. If you are not a paid member, but on the google group only, we strongly encourage you to become a paid member to help support various BWG activities. At any time, you can request to be added to the google group by following these instructions: Find and Join a Group (search for "TWS Biometrics Working Group"). You can also submit a request to subscribe by emailing twsbietrics+subconfirm@googlegroups.com or contact the current BWG Secretary. We strongly encourage you to use the same email you use for your TWS membership for the BWG google group listserv. Once you are on the listserv, you can send messages to the BWG by emailing twsbiometrics@googlegroups.com.
How do I make a donation to support the Biometrics Working Group?
The BWG is primarily financially supported through paid members and workshop fees (organized by BWG members), which we return to our members in the form of student travel grants, awards, and various sponsored events to support our BWG mission within the broader TWS community. We are grateful that TWS has created the opportunity for us to receive donations more easily by filing out this Working Groups Donation Form (be sure to select Biometrics Working Group from the drop-down menu). Donations may offer us opportunities to enhance equity, diversity and inclusion of students, early and late career wildlife professions across our BWG activities. All donations are tax-deductible (and you can specify what types of activities you would like your donation to support). Donations by check should be made out to “The Wildlife Society” with "Biometrics Working Group" in the memo line and mailed to: 25 Century Blvd, Suite 505 Nashville, TN 37214.
