Lessons
Robotics
- What are robots used for? How do they do work? How can we make a machine do what we want it to?
- Machines that do work for us need instruction sets. With the right program, the machine will repeatedly do our work.
- Let's learn about robots and how to program them.
- Now, let's program a robot to do a job!
1. http://www.iknowthat.com/com/L3?Area=BattleBot%5FPuzzle
- At Botz-Puzzles, choose a puzzle from the Easy section. In the register window, say "maybe later".
- Drag the movement box over in between the start and stop movement box. Type in the distance that you would like the bot to go. Then click on Play!
- If you got it right, try another puzzle! If not, make the necessary corrections to your program.
3. http://www.robotsandus.org/moving/smmconstructor/
- Play with the robots at Soda Constructor.
- Use the sliders at the left to control the Gravity, Friction and Spring Stiffness. What effects do you see?
- Drag the wave at the top to control muscle movement. What effects do you see
