My 1997 Miata

zoom ZOOM zoom!

While the Jamaican guy's singing that song, I am flying down the road or carving some major turns in this wonderful piece of engineering ingenuity. A 1997 Miata, she's Montego Blue, built in Japan, has two doors, two seats, a small, unstressed 1.8L engine with 133hp and 113lbft tugging around 2300lbs. She's not lightning fast, but she'll easily pass others. I bought her the day after Thanksgiving in 2005 out in Sacramento. Been eyeing her for about three weeks previously on Craigslist, but the price wasn't ripe yet. Torsen strapped in the back, lowered, stiffened, this baby's yearning for the track. However my wallet's strapped as well. Let's see how she's evolved. No, I don't have a name for her.

This is my Miat the day I bought it. I spent about an hour washing and waxing in the winter cold. Look at the proud look on my face!

I then bought a front air damn to add some aggressive ness to the vehicle. during that time I drained the tranny oil amongst other things. Look at that jizz spot on the bumper.

Look at the RED peeking out of the rear skirt! KYB AGX along with Flyin' Miata springs and Flyin' Miata top hats dump my car to more respective levels. My friend Mark and I didn't have a spring compressor so we had to use the jack and compress the spring and shock shaft into the hat. STRAAAAAIGHT ghetto.

I got bored and then decided to start stripping my interior. What am I doing here? whatever the case, I better vacuum all that grime and junk that's been sitting under the seat all these years!

Oh, NOW it makes sense. What a pain in the ass this was. Cutting, drilling, cussing, fitting. But it's worth the time.

The end product, not completely done, but it sure stiffened-up the Miata!

I found some sharp-looking BBS wheels, OEM from the '93LEs. Spent some time cleaning all the nooks and crannies and this baby's such a sweet-lookin' ride.
