SCHOOL REPORTS 学校からの報告

• • Australia – report – we have lost some schools since the last conference. Importance of having principals on board essential. New principal at Belgrave South PS and SelbyPS – to be contacted オーストラリア報告：前回カンファレンスより数校脱退。校長らの出席が必要不可欠。ベルグレイブサウス小とセルビー小の新校長と連絡を取ること。

  • Japan – only 4 schools allowed to be involved with ISSE but many more are involved. Contact person is Akemi. She will update all later which schools (two, maybe more) will be involved later this year. 日本：ISSEに4校のみ参加ですが、他の学校も関わっている。コンタクトパーソンは、都築明美。今年の終わりまでにどの学校が交流できるか判明する、2校くらい追加もあるかと。

  • Costa Rica – St Anthony school rep. Things going very well. No exchanges outside of America due to finances, travel etc. Mainly used by parents for children to practise their English. Always willing to host, but rarely visit. コスタリカ：セントアンソニー校代表の報告：経過良好、財政・旅程等の関係でアメリカ大陸以外の交流は無理。主に児童の英語の練習は保護者が行っている。ホストすることは歓迎、派遣することはめずらしい。

Problem – when China visited St Anthony school the visit was great except an unexpected tour guide arrived, who was unco-operative. Joanna, Georgina & Vicki spoke about Australia’s experiences with an unexpected tour guide with Chinese exchanges who is not a part of the program. They should not be part of the ISSE program. Bev to contact Jillian about this problem to explain our position – the Travel agent is NOT part of ISSE. 中国がセントアンソニー校へ派遣した時、交流はすばらしかったが、予期しないツアーガイドが来たことを除けば。その方は協力的でなかったので。ジョアンナさん、ジョジーナさん、ビッキーさんもオーストラリアと中国の交流で、プログラムに関わらない予定外のツアーガイドの受入経験があると表明。彼らは、交流に参加するべきでないと。ベブさんはジリアンさんに、この件について私たちの立場説明し、旅行社はISSEの一員ではないと連絡をとる。

• • India – Bal Bharati School – costs are an issue when sending to the northern hemisphere. Contacting India is very difficult. インド：バルバラティ校：北半球への派遣は費用の件で問題あり。インドと連絡をとることは、非常に困難。

  • Mexico – regularly meet together. Act as a team. Did have a problem with China, but the problem was with a new co-ordinator at a Mexican school, Cenca. Another school took up that exchange. メキシコ：定期的に会議をし、チームのように活動している。中国との交流で問題もあるが、メキシコの学校センカ小の新コーディネターとの問題もあり。他のもう一校は交流を受け入れた。

  • Ecuador – not here but report given based on information given to Bev. Not available for any exchanges this time because they have not paid their fees. エクアドル：欠席ですが、ベブに状況報告をしている。会費未払いなので今回どの交流も有効ではない。

Other issues 他の問題

• • Communication /Emails with schools you are exchanging with – 交流予定学校との連絡を取り合うこと、Eメール

The communication is still poor at times. Some schools take too long to reply to emails. At least one month before you travel ALL documents and plans need to be finalised. 時折、コミュニケーションがうまくいかない。いくつかの学校はEメールの返事がとても遅いようです。少なくても派遣に出発する一カ月前までには、すべての書類や計画は最終的に済ませる事。

Need to check emails daily and at least acknowledge receipt and state a response timeline, which should not exceed 5 days. Some unfortunately do not respond immediately or at all. メールは毎日チェックすること。5日以内に少なくても受け取った事を知らせ、回答の予定期限を知らせる事。不運にもすぐに返事をしなかったり、まったくしない場合もあるようです。

Bev has often sent a response to ask for immediate replies, but she shouldn’t do that straight away. ベブは時々、すぐに返事をするようにと対応しているが、彼女が直ちにする必要はない。

Please send a reply email immediately even if you just acknowledge that you received the email and will address the issue/question as soon as possible (not to exceed 5 days)受け取ったというだけのメールでもいいから、すぐに返信すること。問題点や質問について出来るだけ早く回答して、5日を超えないように。

Please do not wait too long for replies – courtesy to the person who emailed. メールしてくれた方に礼儀正しくしすぎて、返事を長く待ちすぎないこと。

• • Hosting 受入

Changing numbers of those going should not happen / after one month finalization. 一か月を切ってからの派遣団の人数の変更はないように。

The host school sets the number to be hosted. The two schools involved in the exchange must communicate about the number of students who are to be hosted. ホスト校が受入る人数決める。何人が受け入れてもらえるかを交流に関わる学校2校が、連絡を取り合うこと。

Two chaperones – countries must be willing to send and host two chaperones, although many countries are unable to send two. Where possible please do so especially in cases of emergency ie: a child is sick. The Australian & Japanese governments state that two staff must go. 引率者2名：各国は引率者2名を派遣、受け入れる事を望んでいる。多くの国が2人送れない状況でもあるが。子供が病気になった時など緊急事態に備え、どこの国へ行く場合も、2名派遣して欲しい。オーストラリアと日本は、政府の規則で2名の引率が必須。

Chaperones – need to take it seriously. Need to interact with all the students – their own and the host school. Tests even sent with some delegations. They need to know their responsibility. Be prepared for their roles. The ISSE Guidelines are located on the webpage. 引率者：交流に真剣な人であること。自分の学校とホストしてくれている学校のすべての児童と交流すること。派遣されたことがあっても試験をすること。自分の責任を自覚すること。自分の役割のために準備できること。ISSEガイドラインはネットのページにあり。

• • Maximum number of children - the two schools have to agree on the number, but the host has the right to say how many they can accept. Rules say to 10 students but you can negotiate the numbers. Some schools can host up to 15, but most cannot. 児童の最大数：2校間で人数の同意が必要。ホスト校が受け入れ人数を決める権利あり。規則では、10人と言ってるが、2校で協議可能。ある学校は15人まで受け入れられると言うが、ほとんどの学校は、それは無理。

Japan prefer to send 6 students but will host up to 8 students. 日本は、派遣6名を希望、受け入れは8名までは可能。

Japan & other schools –can have difficulty finding two staff – can use one teacher and the other can be an approved non-staff member who agrees to stated responsibilities. 日本と他の学校：2名の職員を確保が困難。教師1名と教師以外の人で責任を取ることに同意する人を引率者として選択可。

It is important that all schools understand that no parent of a travelling student may chaperone! 派遣団児童の親でない者が引率することを全部の学校が認識すること。

Age of students to travel – 10, 11 & 12 years old 派遣団児童の年齢：10，11，12歳

Age of students to host – same preferred – 10, 11 & 12 years old 受入る児童の年齢：同年齢が望ましい。10，11，12歳

Visas – Need to plan ahead as visas and permission from countries needs to be finalised prior to travel. Make sure you leave enough time to do all this. ビザ：派遣前に各国からのビザや渡航許可を前もって取得すること。出発する前、十分余裕を持って取り組むこと。

• • Modern Technology & Communication – 現代の技術、意思疎通

This has become a problem especially recently with some members of the delegation spending time contacting home when they should be spending time with their host child and family. These children are usually the ones who suffer the most from homesickness and are not actively taking part in the program if they are constantly contacting home. 特に最近問題になってきていることは、数人が派遣中ホスト児童やその家族と時間を過ごすべきところ、自宅との連絡に時間を使っていること。自宅と定期的に連絡を取っているこれらの児童が、主にホームシックにかかり、交流プログラムに積極的でないようだ。

Internet social networking – no iPads iPods, etc, to be used for photography instead the children can take a camera. インターネット・ソーシャル・ネットワーク：カメラの代わりとしてiPadsやiPodsなどで写真を取ることを児童がするのを禁止。

Many schools involved with ISSE are now on Facebook. You can ‘Friend’ it, but this can cause issues. Some countries (eg: Australia) have set policies about the use of Facebook with students aged 12 and under. Still need to look into this. 今では、ISSEに参加している多くの学校がFacebookを活用している。｢友達」となれるが、問題も発生。例えばオーストラリアの国などでは、12歳以下の子供がFacebookを使うのを規制している。これについての調査が必要。

School time – 10 days with China is not enough – Class time should be included as the main goal with excursions kept to a minimum. Any visiting school’s side excursions should be prior to or after the official exchange. 学校での時間：中国で10日間は不十分。主要な目的のためクラスでの時間は含まれること、小旅行は最小限で。どの派遣校もおまけの物見遊山は、公式交流の前か後に。

• • Collection of Funds – 資金回収

This is becoming more difficult. Proposed by Bev that we all pay the fees on the same date. Joanna proposed by the end of February as it suits Australia. Other schools agreed. All fees due by February 28^th for previous year’s exchanges! 最近、特に困難。ベブさんの提案：会費は全員が同時期に支払うこと。ジョアンナさんの提案：オーストラリアでは2月末が最適。他校も同意。前年の交流会費の期限は2月28日とする。

As part of the program email at least 4-5 quotes plus photos about the exchange and include the date. The passwords will be the same on the new site. Your user name will now be the school name. プログラムの一部として、交流に関すること少なくても4～５文の感想と写真を日付とともにメールする。新しいサイトでもパスワードは同様の予定。ユーザー名は学校名にして。

Password needs to be at least 8 characters, with one number and one capital letter. パスワードは、数字を一つと大文字一つ以上含む８文字以上で。

Website – updated information – email details and photos to Bev and she will update it asap ISSEホームページ：更新情報：ベブさんに写真と詳細をメールすると、彼女がすぐに更新予定。

Two contact names and email addresses, as well as the school’s email address. 連絡係２名、名前とEメールアドレスを、学校のEメールアドレスと同様に。

All website information, updates, etc must got to Bev for addition to the new website. ホームぺージを更新するために、ベブさんにホームページ用新情報を送ること。

Please add to the Stories section of the webpage, but when you send the information – stories and comments – remember to include the date relating to your story. ホームページに交流記事を載せてください、送るときには記事や感想をそして期日も含めて。

Suggestion made to Archive old files rather than getting rid of it all together 古い書類のデータ保管の提案 すべて処分しないで。

Names of people not included, perhaps first names, last names are never used. 人名は入れないよう、ファーストネームは使うかも。名字は絶対に使用しないように。

“Tell Your ISSE Story” – send as children have written it if you like. Bev will check it before it is put on the web page. 「あなたのISSE話を聞かせて」：子供が書いたものでも気に入るものなら、送って。ベブがホームページに載せる前にチェックします。

All forms are currently accessible to everyone. Does it need a password? すべてのフォーム書類は現在どなたにもアクセス可能。パスワードは必要？

Can use wikispaces.com site created as a diary of the exchange. Adam Foster from Mount View showed us the site he used for his delegation’s visit to Peru. 交流の日記としてwikispace.comのサイトを利用するか。マウントビュー校のアダム・フォスターさんが彼らのサイトでペルーへの派遣団の様子を見せてくれた。

Kizoa – free program to download photos & video etc – name of the program Adam used to upload a slideshow of pictures daily to his wikispaces web page. Kizoa（無料プログラムで写真やビデオをダウンロードできる）は、アダムさんがwikispaceのページに毎日スライドショー写真をアップロードするのに使っている。

• • ISSE Co-Ordinators - ISSEコーディネーター

As the ISSE co-ordinator & their committee - we must oversee the exchange process – meetings, cultural program, class sessions, travelling etc. ISSEコーディネーターと委員会として：交流手順の監督しなければならない。会議、カルチャーショー、クラスレッスン、旅程等を。

Australia, Japan and Mexico meet regularly but the other countries do not. オーストラリア、日本、メキシコは定期的に会議をしているが、他はしていない。

Each country must decide who is to be their “designated” ISSE representative for their country. Someone who can co-ordinate / be responsible for their country’s ISSE program, and hopefully attend conferences. 各国は、誰が指定されたその国のISSE代表かを決定すること。ISSEプログラムのために調整でき、責任をもって活動でき、できれば、カンファレンスに出席可能な方を。

Excess funds – do we offer a scholarship to a country so that a delegate from a country is able to attend? What type of criteria do we set for this? Do we make it a lottery? Will need to think further about this. 余剰資金：ある国からの出席が可能になるように奨学金を提供するか？どんな基準を設定すべきか。くじ引きをするか。これに関してもっと考慮する必要あり。

Need to think how we can use the money towards the scholarship. Be open to all schools. Scholarship not applied to those in the same zone (hemisphere). Countries must apply to Bev stating needs for funds. 奨学金についての使い方について考える必要あり。すべての学校に対しオープンにする。奨学金は、同じ区域(半球)からは申し込めない。希望する国は、ベブさんに資金が必要な事を申し出る事。

We’ll have a lottery to draw 2 country names and offer those countries towards the cost for travel to the conference. Scholarships to be offered in zones – east & west. $1,000 USD to be offered for the scholarship. Bev to draw the names of the countries and contact them. くじ引きで2国を選び、その国へカンファレンス出席の旅費の提供をする。奨学金は東西の地域で提供、1,000USドルで。ベブが国名のくじを引き、その国にコンタクトをする。

Day 2 – Tuesday, 15^th April, 2014 at Mount View PS

Introduction by Colin Dobson – great introduction which summed up ISSE so well. 校長コリン・ドブソンさんによる紹介― ISSEが非常によいとの素晴らしい紹介。

Guest Speaker- Alice Pung – excellent speaker and very inspirational. ゲストスピーカー：アリス・パンさん 素晴らしい講演でとても刺激を受けました。

• • Recap on yesterday’s information 前日の内容の確認

Classroom visits are mandatory. クラス訪問は義務。

China in particular need to either postpone their travel guide, or understand that the guide is not part of the ISSE program and will not be hosted for a homestay. 特に中国は、旅行ガイド同行をやめるか、ガイドはISSEプログラムの一員ではないので、ホームステイできない事を理解する。

When in China rather than always sending students on excursions the delegation must be in classrooms more. 中国にいるとき、児童らをいつも小旅行に連れ出しているが、派遣団はもっと授業に参加しなければならない。

Communication is essential so please respond immediately even if it is simply to acknowledge that you have read the email and will check the information. 連絡を取ることは必要不可欠、返信は速やかに。メールを読んだという事を知らせ、内容をチェックすると伝えるだけでも。

Chaperones must be aware of the ISSE guidelines as the chaperone. Check the webpage. Interact with and supervise the children – your delegation and the school you are visiting. 引率者は、ISSEガイドラインを熟知しなければならない。ウェブページを見てください。派遣団や訪問校の子供らと交流し、監督すること。

Please do not send your delegation with too much work, especially exams. Homework should be kept to a minimum or rather just keep it to writing a journal. 派遣団生に派遣中、多すぎる課題を与えないように、特に試験など。宿題は最少限にし、日誌をつける程度にする。

Children and staff who are visiting the school are to teach and experience class lessons in that school. 学校を訪問中の派遣団の児童と職員は、滞在校で授業をしたり、受けたりする。

All electronics – no communication device to be used during the exchange. If taken the chaperone is to collect these during the exchange. If the chaperone is uncomfortable about taking away these devices (mobile phone etc) because of concern over repercussions when they return home, the ISSE co-ordinator at the school can take charge of this.電子機器全般：交流中、連絡を取れる機器は使用禁止。持って行った場合、交流中は回収しておく。引率者が、帰国後に悪影響が出る事を恐れ、これらの機器（携帯電話等）を取り上げることに苦痛なようなら、各校のISSEコーディネーターがこれに対処する。

Limit the computer time at the host family. No real time contact – this is to assist with avoiding homesickness. ホストファミリー宅でのコンピューター使用制限：リアルタイムでの連絡禁止。これは、ホームシックを予防するため。

Communication prior to the exchange about your school’s expectations is a huge help. It also explains to the parents the other school’s expectations. (Need them to be aware from the time of Information Nights regarding the exchange as well.) 学校が期待する事について、交流の事前に連絡を取っておくと非常に役に立つ。保護者らにも他校の期待度を説明しておく。（交流に関することと同様、毎晩の時間の過ごし方も知らせておく。）

Families need to stop communicating so regularly to the host family while the delegation is visiting. Sometimes unnecessary pressure is applied to the families hosting or the teacher chaperone to get information about the exchange by families back at home. This can cause stress. Need to make parents aware of this. 派遣中は、派遣児童の家族はホスト家族と定期的に連絡を取ることをやめる必要あり。ときどきホスト家族や引率教師に必要のないプレッシャーを与えかねない。自宅で待っている派遣生の家族から交流の情報を得るとか。ストレスの原因となる。この件を両親らにも伝えておくこと。

A Scholarship of $1,000 USD will be available for attendance to future conferences. Any interested country may apply to Bev stating need for financial assistance. East / West areas rather than North & South. Nominate a representative to attend. Need a country contact for each country in order to forward information. Not allowed to have the scholarship for 2 years in a row. 1000USドルの奨学金は、将来カンファレンス出席に有効。興味があるなら、ベブさんに経済的援助を申し出てみて。南北よりも東西の地域分けで。出席者の指名をする。情報を転送できるよう各国が国の連絡係が必要。2年連続の奨学金は不許可。

A number of forms are outdated. You can send Bev an email with your concerns regarding the form and the suggested changes to be made. フォーム書類がいくつか時代遅れとなっている。フォームに関し変更点など提案があれば、ベブさんにメールして。

Any forms which need to be notarised – Some countries, like Australia, where there is a considerable cost involved in getting a notarisation, the form will be updated allowing a person of authority to notarise the form; as long as they can be filled in by a person of authority eg: the principal. 公証の必要な書類：いくつかの国、例えばオーストラリアのような国は公証を得るのにかなりの費用がかかっている。フォーム書類を権限のある人、例えば校長など権威のある者が証明できるよう変更予定。

Eg: So many food issues should not be occurring. Food issues should be discussed as part of the selection process. Students are expected to try all food, if not they shouldn’t travel. 例：食べ物に関する問題は、あまり発生して欲しくない。食べ物問題は、選抜手順の一部として話し合っておくべきです。児童らはすべての食べ物を挑戦するのを期待されている。もし、そうでなければ、出かけないで。

Forms 3 & 4 Release of Liability – merely a protection, eg: from a plane crash フォーム3と4責任の解放：単に保護するもの、例えば飛行機墜落などの事故から

Form 9 MUST be filled in and kept with the chaperone during the visit フォーム9は、必ず記入し、引率者が派遣中、携帯すること。

Wording to change for the Notary to say - Notary and/or in any official capacity (where applicable) 公証人の表現変更のお知らせ：公証人または他の公的な適性のある者(どこか適用可能なところ)

Exchanges – 3 weeks duration at the school, save your extra excursions for after or before the time at the school. If you intend to change this please contact your host school. 交流：学校で3週間 ホスト校での交流滞在の前か後におまけの旅行を組むこと。もしこれをどうしても変更したければ、ホスト校と連絡を取り合うこと。

All money is on or before 28^th February each year. 会費は交流時、又は毎年2月28日までに支払うこと。

Ecuador has requested to have the next conference in 2016 in the second or third week of July. If they cannot host then Colorado will be willing to host the conference. エクアドルが2016年7月第2週か第3週に次回のカンファレンス開催を申し出た。もし、不可能になったらコロラドが喜んでカンファレンスをホストします。

Thursday, 17^th April, 2014 2014年4月17 日 木曜日 リージェンシーパーク小学校で

• • Cultural Programs since the last Conference, have all improved and are now not too long. Remember the program needs to be at least 30 minutes. Well done everyone. 前回カンファレンスよりのカルチャーショー問題は改善。今では長すぎることはない。プログラムは少なくても30分は必要。皆さん、良くできています。

  • Remember ISSE is a cultural exchange program not own time, avoid only using IT only.

    • ISSE文化交流は自分自身の時間でないので、ITのみの使用は避ける事。

  • Schedule to be sent to the visiting school before they visit – even if it’s just an outline of daily events. All forms by 1 month before. Plus details about the children 派遣校へ派遣前にスケジュールを送ること、日々の大まかなイベント概要でもいいので。

  • ISSE Web page – There will now be no password required. The forms will be available for all, but will be in pdf format. If you want the Word Doc format you can email Bev to email the original form to you to be able to email back. ISSEホームページ：現在パスワード必要なし。すべての方にフォーム利用可。が、pdfファイルで。もし、ワードドキュメントで必要なら、ベブさんにメールして。オリジナルな書式をメールで入手可。

  • Some of the forms need to be updated. Email any suggestions to Bev and she will make the necessary changes. いくつかフォームの更新要。必要な変更点があれば、ベブさんにメールして。

  • Handbook needs to be updated on the web page ホームページ上のハンドブックの更新要

  • Expansion – how can we add more schools? We need to be more proactive. Australia did have a major article about the ISSE program a few years ago. Some interest was generated but still not on board. If you do make contact with schools who are still interested please send the information to Bev. The first year a school is involved with ISSE there is no cost to them. We all have reason why we joined so we need to share this with others. Aim in the next 6 months to try to contact other schools. Perhaps if schools which were previously involved could also be contacted that would be great. Why did they leave? ISSEの発展：どうやって参加校を追加するか？もっと先を見越して行動すべし。オーストラリアは、数年前ISSEプログラムについての重大な記事を発表。興味を持ったものはあったが、まだ参加に至っていない。もし、興味のある学校に連絡をとっているようなら、ベブさんに情報を送ってください。ISSEに初年度の参加費は無料。なぜ参加校を加えようとするのかは、この交流を他の方々と共有したいからという理由あり。この先6カ月をめどに、他の学校と連絡を取るように。以前に加わっていた学校を連絡が取れるようならそれもいいかも。なぜ、撤退したのかなど。

  • Need to make sure that each country has one main contact person. 各国がそれぞれ中心となるコンタクトパーソンを一人決める必要あり。

  • ISSE – great if each country’s ISSE co-ordinator was to have had first-hand experience, to be involved with at least one exchange. 各国のISSEコーディネーターは、直接交流に関わった事のある人、少なくても一つ以上の交流を経験していること。

  • Are you happy with the ISSE administration? Very happy with the current set up. ISSE本部に満足しているか？現在の状況にとても満足。

  • Georgina, as the ISSE President for Australia, thanked her committee for all their hard work and the ISSE delegates who were lucky enough to attend. All Australian schools meet regularly and share ISSE information and experiences.   • Very successful conference. In preparation for the future fees were paid in advance which is not the usual practice. This did work very well. Australia needed the fees in advance to be able to plan and prepare for everything. If they signed up and did not come, there is no refund. Decided to pay in advance for future conferences. Best to pay in American dollars. カンファレンスは成功。事前に参加費の支払いが行われたことは、通常の事ではなかった。これはとてもうまくいきました。オーストラリアは、前もってすべての事を計画し準備するのに参加費が事前に必要でした。もし、参加を申し込んでも来ることができなかった場合は、払い戻しはしません。将来のカンファレンスのため、事前に参加費を支払うことが決定。アメリカドルでの支払いがベスト。

  • Australia ISSE committee discussed about costs. Cost of living is expensive now, hence why the cost was what it was. オーストラリアのISSE委員会：費用についての討議。生活費が今高くなっている。なので何に費用がかかるかを検討。

  • Possible dates sent out a year ago, and although we had an okay from all countries that April would have been okay, but so many countries were unable to send anyone. July would have suited more countries but it was much better for Australia to host in April.   • Never had every country with a representative at the ISSE Conference. Ideally each country should have one representative at the conference to represent that country.   • Facebook – give it a go, each country’s co-ordinator or the school’s principal to send information to Bev so that it can be posted. The page will have some blocks. If anyone sees a problem with the page, if it needs to be blocked then Bev will block it.   • Most schools have permission forms which could include an ISSE Facebook authority page. ほとんどの学校は、ISSEのFacebookページを追加の許可書類あり。

  • Married chaperones – not necessary to be hosted by the same person. 既婚の引率者たち：同じ人がホストする必要ない。

  • Security checks – what do other countries use? In Australia we have ‘Working With Children’ forms required/compulsory. Need to know your parents who have nominated to host, to check that out. Responsibility of the chaperone, children need to know that they can speak to their chaperone. Sometimes a child does need to be moved for a variety of reasons, the chaperone needs to be aware of the child and their situations.   • Medical issues – at least one chaperone (where practicable) to attend the doctor’s or hospital with the child and the host family. Chaperone to pay and then can be reimbursed by the child’s family. 医療問題：少なくても１人の引率者が、児童とホスト家族とともに医者又は病院へ付き添うこと。引率者が費用を立替え、後で児童の家族から払い戻してもらう。

Welcome to Mount View Primary School – a proud government school situated in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The greatest assets that we have are the children and the dynamic team of staff members. I have stated on numerous occasions that we must understand ourselves if we are to deepen our understanding of others. Why does society investigate culture through a lens of difference rather than a lens that concentrates on similarities between people.

私は、何度もいろんな場合に表明してきましたが、他人を深く理解するようにするには、私たち自身をまず理解しなければならないと。どうして世間は、人間どうしの共通点を見つけようとしないで、文化の相違点を見つけようとするのでしょう。

The above educational goals are profoundly shaped by the relationships that the children encounter and embrace throughout their international school to school experience.

ISSE交流を通し、児童らが出会って抱き合える人間関係ができることにより、上記の教育目標を本当に成し遂げられます。

Alice Pung アリス・パンさん

It is now my absolute privilege to introduce you to Alice Pung. Alice is a lawyer, author and teacher. I have had the pleasure of listening to Alice on a number of occasions and last year invited her to Mount View to speak to the Victorian Principals from International Baccalaureate Schools. Alice tells a story – and I don’t believe anything is as important as conveying a historical and contemporary narrative. This conversation brings to life societies ‘human’ achievements and challenges. As a writer and speaker she illuminates our life and the society in which we live.

アリス・パンさんをここで皆さまに紹介できる事をうれしく思います。アリスさんは、弁護士、作家であり教師でもあります。数回アリスさんの講演を聴く機会がありました。昨年マウントビュー校にお招きして、国際バカロレア機構のビクトリア州の校長先生方に講演をしていただきました。アリスさんは語ってくれました、歴史上の事、同時代の話を伝える事は重要であると。この対話は現実社会に「人間」の業績や挑戦をもたらしてくれます。作家と講演者として彼女は、私たちの生活や住んでいる社会を照らしてくれます。

Alice has written 2 books – Unpolished Gem and Her Father’s Daughter as well as editing Growing Up Asian In Australia. アリスさんは、2冊本を書いています。「磨いていない宝石と父親の娘として」と「オーストラリアでアジア人として育って」です。

Alice was the Asianlink writer in residence at Peking University, Australian Representative at the Iowa Writing Program and Australian Representative to the US Department of State “Fall and Recovery’ writers tour of disaster at conflict sites of America. She has also worked at Italian universities in Bologna, Pisa and Milano. アリスさんは、北京大学に住んでいたことのあるアジア系の作家で、アイオワ大学の作家プログラムのオーストラリア代表で、米国国務省の「挫折と回復」アメリカの矛盾の場所である災害を考える作家グループのオーストラリア代表でもあります。さらにイタリアのボローニャ、ピサ、ミラノの大学で働いたこともあります。
