TO EDMONTON BY AIR
Multiple domestic and international airlines fly into Edmonton International Airport (YEG). Please note that the airport is 28 km/17 miles from the UofA campus
Airport Taxi to University of Alberta: (30 to 40 minutes)
- $48 flat rate, one-way to UofA locations, including the Schäffer Hall residence
Airport Shuttle to University of Alberta: (60 to 80 minutes)
- Take the Skyshuttle to Lister Centre, which is next door to Schäffer Hall
- $18 one-way, or $30 round trip
Airport Bus/Train to University of Alberta: (60 minutes)
- Take Edmonton Transit System’s Route 747 Bus Service to Century Park LRT station (Bus runs every 30 minutes during peak hours. One-way trip: $5 cash paid to driver or 2 adult ETS tickets)
- At Century Park LRT Station take train north to Health Sciences/Jubilee LRT Station (cash fare $3.25)
- It's a 5 minute walk west from the LRT station to Schäffer Hall
TO EDMONTON BY CAR
Edmonton is approximately:
- 3 hours north of Calgary
- 6 hours west of Saskatoon
PARKING
- There are 3 lots adjacent to the Schäffer Hall residence that offer parking for overnight guests only at $7 per vehicle per night (from noon til noon). Inquire at the registration desk when checking in
- NOTE: With the number of Fort MacMurray evacuees currently staying on campus these overnight lots are quite full and available space is not guaranteed
- UofA Parking Services manages multiple lots on campus, with daily rates for commuters
- For daily commuters the most convenient lot for quickest access to Cameron Library is the Education Car Park which is located at the corner of 87 Avenue and 114 Street. Rate is $15.00/day
TO EDMONTON BY BUS
Greyhound
- The Greyhound bus depot is located in downtown Edmonton, three blocks from the Bay Enterprise Square LRT station, and a 7 minute ride to the Health Sciences/Jubilee station near the Schäffer Hall residence

Red Arrow
- The Red Arrow Line serves several communities in Alberta. The Red Arrow depot is also located downtown, two blocks from the Bay Enterprise Square LRT Station, and a 7 minute ride to the Health Sciences/Jubilee station near the Schäffer Hall residence

TO EDMONTON BY TRAIN
- VIA Rail has a station in Edmonton, but a cautionary note: their schedules are notoriously unreliable, and trains often arrive or depart several hours late
