Sideline Cheer is any type of cheering that is done on the sidelines of a sporting event. When you make the Cheerleading team at Troy, you are a sideline cheerleader and are responsible for creating a fun, safe, and spirited environment at any events or games that the team attends.
Sideline Cheer is a year round sport.
All cheerleaders should plan for 3 hours of practice a day.
Practices for the 2025-26 Season are during 6th period: Monday through Wednesday from 2:30-5:30 (During 6th Period). This may change from year to year.
Cheer may be asked to attend additional games or events outside of those listed during Football/Basketball Season.
FOOTBALL SEASON:
JV Games are (usually) on Thursdays at Troy High School at 3:15pm.
JV Cheer will cheer for whichever team (Frosh/JV Football) is at home each week. Varsity must attend the first half of all JV Games.
Varsity Games are on Fridays at 7pm.
Home games have a call time of 5:30pm at the Home Field (FUHS Stadium). Call Time Varies for Varsity Away Games due to travel & bussing. JV is required to attend ALL Varsity Home games.
BASKETBALL SEASON:
JV Cheer will cheer for whichever team (Frosh/JV Basketball) is at home that day. Games are during the week, days vary.
Varsity Cheer will cheer for Varsity Basketball at all HOME League games. Calendar is updated in the Fall.
Based on the 2025-2026 season: Varsity Basketball Games are on Tuesdays & Fridays at 7pm and starts in January. JV game days vary, but are usually between 3 and 4pm.
