Camp Tamarack, Wood Lake Scout Reservation, is in Jones, Michigan. The property consists of more than 500 acres of heavily wooded land and two glacial lakes, Wood Lake, and Little Wood Lake. Enjoy nature on the miles of trails we have to offer! This summer we are offering 45 individual merit badges and 27 programs/activities spread across 6 Program Areas.
There are fifteen campsites scattered in the woods on the north side of Wood Lake. Scouts camp in tents, which they bring and pitch themselves. In addition to the campsites, Camp Tamarack has a dining hall, shower house, health lodge, and of course, a well-stocked trading post!
The Boy Scouts of America and the State of Michigan Department of Social Services has rated Camp Tamarack as a Nationally Accredited Camp. This means that each year, Camp Tamarack meets the standards of being a safe, healthy, and quality camping experience for all Scouts and Scouters. Camp Tamarack maintains a policy of non-discrimination regarding race, ethnicity, creed, religion, or disability in all phases of its programs and operations. Camp life at Camp Tamarack, WLSR, builds the Patrol Method, Unit Leadership Skills, and Scouting Spirit.

Camp Tamarack is home to one of the most dedicated staffs in the region, if not the nation. They will go over and beyond to ensure everyone has a meaningful experience while at camp. All key staff and Program Area Directors have either attended BSA National Camping School or have been deemed qualified by national accreditation standards. The staff averages a returning rate of over 60 percent and collectively have over 300 summers of staffing experience. Come see why our staff are the best of the best!
