Troop 103 Youth Leadership Outing
At Troop 103, the Boys lead the Troop and the adults provide mentoring, training in skills and safe supervision. The Boys and their elected leadership lead the meetings, manage the troop and the patrols, decide on the outings they want to do, cook their own meals on campouts, and lead the way down the hiking trail, with the adults following behind. In this way, they learn to be leaders, while the adults are there to make sure they make wise decisions.
Learning to be a leader in the Boy Scout Troop and in the Community is one of the key objectives of Boy Scouting. For more information on the different youth leadership positions in a Boy Scout troop, please see the following link: Boy Scout Youth Leadership Positions.
