GOAL I: KNOWLEDGE AND INNOVATION

Strategic Initiatives

• Initiate programs to address needs of TRIO

• Update, develop and post on the state website a membership directory annually

• Enhance learning Community

• Strengthen TRIO ties

• TN TRIO will maintain a website which provides links to information updates per TRIO Programs

• TN TRIO will provide online information updates per departments

• TN TRIO will maintain a website which provides links to information updates per TRIO Programs

• TN TRIO  will increase % of online activity at the website

GOAL II: ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Strategic Initiatives

• Promote scholarships and learning

• Administer a mentoring program for members

• Support TRIO student activities designed to prepare participants for success

• Maximize our impact by enhancing our resources in the educational community

Progress Indicators

• TN TRIO will award at least six scholarships to TRIO students in the state each year

• Enhancing the TN TRIO learning experience for all members by conducting a Mentoring workshop at the TN TRiO Conference each year

• TN TRIO will sponsor Scholars/Academic Bowl and research projects for TRIO participants each year

• TN TRIO will Sponsor a TRIO day each year

GOAL III: MEMBERSHIP

Strategic Initiatives

• Increase and enhance member involvement

• Recruit and retain members

• Strengthen recruitment of membership

• Increase the capacity of effective communication

• Conduct a TRIO Achievers Recognition

• Renew and maintain an Alumni Association

• Contact new alumni annually to join the Association

Progress Indicators

• TN TRIO will increase percent of member involvement by three percent each year

• TN TRIO will increase number of new members and percentage of members returning by five percent each year

• TN TRIO will increase number of new members in leadership positions

• TN TRIO will increase number of members with leadership/committee experience

• TN TRIO will present a TRIO Achievers Recognition during the TN TRIO Conference each year

• TN TRIO will establish an online network and database of members

• TN TRIO will develop and post on the state website a membership directory annually

GOAL IV: LEADERSHIP

Strategic Initiatives

• Strengthen and expand partnerships with Community hosting TN TRIO Conference

• Enhance relationships through State Initiatives

• Increase Public awareness

• Strengthen strategic and financial positions

• Develop financial resources to support activities and initiatives of the organization

• Demonstrate responsible stewardship of its fund

• Support and assist the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE)

Progress Indicators

• TN TRIO will engage in fund raising activities with the Community

• TN TRIO will increase focus by hosting a State Initiative TRIO Day

• TN TRIO will have direct involvement in activities in the community hosting TRIO conferences

• TN TRIO will continue to seek and secure alternative funding sources (i.e. grants, donations, financial partnerships)

• TN TRIO will solicit support from its individual members and their projects

• TN TRIO will continue to maintain accurate and timely financial records and submit fiscal year records to an external review

• TN TRIO will continue to submit an audit review to the membership at the SAEOPP Annual Conference during the TN TRIO Business Meeting

• TN TRIO will meet its Fair Share to COE annually

GOAL V: LEARNING EXPERIENCES

• Partnership with Sister Programs

• Workshops to aid Programs

• Expand educational opportunities

• Support for TRIO Programs

• Develop relationships with policymakers

• Encourage post-secondary institutions and/or community agencies to seek funding for TRIO programs in those areas

Progress Indicators

• TN TRIO will enhance relationships with Programs to assist with meeting grant objectives

• TN TRIO will provided workshops to present best practices in promoting services in program areas

• TN TRIO will assist TRIO personnel in understanding procedures and regulations governing TRIO programs

• Encourage and support the development of new TRIO programs within the state

• TN TRIO will promote the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE)

• TN TRIO will assist and support members to publicize and advocate for TRIO
