LEGO Lab at Thinktank

At the outset of the project, it was known that the environmental requirements for the Lab were onerous. For instance, LEGO kit uses light sensors so the lighting needed to be meticulously controlled. Further, as the Lab is located on a balcony overlooking the public entrance to Millennium Point, problems of aural distraction and noise spillage needed to be solved.

The cloverleaf style of tables ensures that children and family groups can work comfortably in pairs in an intimate space. Experimental programming can be tried by using test tables located within each cluster of worktables. Computers do not dominate the tabletop, but can be brought forward or stored away depending onteaching requirements.
