Headquarters for CV Home Furnishings

Trickett Associates prepared overall block plans for the whole site to show how, in the long-term, space would become divided between CVHF, CV Carpets and a wide range of special purpose areas including a training area, showroom, restaurant, staff shop etc. A series of 20 'steps' were defined to achieve completion of alterations and improvements to Newtown Mill. Throughout the 4 year exercise, Trickett Associates continued to provide strategic advice on how an ever increasing range of further functions could be planned into the scheme.

An intriguing aspect of Trickett Associates' long involvement with CVHF was the gradual realisation, by the company's management, that improvements to the working environment were a crucial ingredient of its striving for 'Total Quality'. At the outset of the project the connection between 'quality' and 'workplace' had not been made; on its conclusion, the two aims were seen to be inseparable. For Terry Trickett, CVHF's 'enlightenment' vindicated much work on organisational analysis and design undertaken by his company over a period 20 years.
