Characteristics
- Males: 24-27 mm; females: 25-31 mm
- Fore lobe of pronotum with low apically rounded discal tubercles
- Humeral angles angular or pointed but not spinose
- Subapical reddish spot of corium relatively large compared to E. mucronatus
Biology
- Occasionally in houses, attracted by artificial light
- Has been reported as associated with bats
- Naturally infected by T. cruzi
- In palm tree Scheelea sp., in hollow trees with bats; in tatu shelters
