-Joseph Nietfeld @state-mn
Joe Nietfeld is a principal geotechnical engineer in the MnDOT central office. Joe has 21 years of geotechnical and structural engineering experience for a major geotechnical consultant and for MnDOT where he has worked in bridge standards, bridge design, transit, the geotechnical section, and government affairs. Joe has been the engineer of record for several major pile, drilled shaft and embankment projects and served in bridge and Geotech oversight roles for major design build, CMGC and Light rail and Bus rapid transit projects. Joe has presented at the Transportation Research Board Annual meeting and several state conferences on geotechnical topics, developed numerous MnDOT standards and authored sections of the MnDOT Bridge and Geotech manuals. In addition, Joe is currently a member of TRB AKG 70 Foundations of Bridges and Other Structures Committee.

Masoud Nobahar, Ph.D., E.I. is currently a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Louisiana State University (LSU) conducting research at Louisiana Transportation Research Center (LTRC). Dr. Nobahar has worked for more than 8 years on different Geotechnical and Structural projects. He authored and co-authored more than 70 peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, and technical reports on different aspects of geotechnical engineering. Dr. Nobahar co-lead multiple projects funded by Federal and State Agencies such as National Science Foundation, US-DOTs. University Transportation Center (UTC), US Army Corps of Engineering-ERDC, Mississippi DOT, and Louisiana DOTD on Geo-Infrastructure. Dr. Nobahar is a technical member and Committee Research Coordinator (CRC) of AKG-70 Transportation Research Board (TRB) Standing Committee on Foundations of Bridges and Other Structures as well as technical member of ASCE-Geotechnical Institute (GI) Standing Committee on Earth, Dams, and Slopes.
Focus Areas: Site Variability Analysis for Deep Foundations, Geosynthetic-Reinforced Pile-Supported Embankments for Soft Soil Conditions, Development and Implementation of Machine Learning Techniques, and Numerical Modeling.

Tejo Bheemasetti is an Assistant Professor in the Civil and Architectural Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Arizona.His research focuses on both fundamental and applied aspects of Geotechnical Engineering to investi gate and develop soluti onsto problemati c geomaterials with applicati ons in transportati on, mining, and water dams. He is a member of standing technicalcommitt ees on the ASCE Embankments, Dams, and Slopes committ ee; ASCE Engineering Geology and Site Characterizati on;ASCE Sustainability in Geotechnical Engineering; and TRB- Foundati ons of Bridges and Other Structures. His research has beensponsored by the Nati onal Science Foundati on (NSF), Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Transportati on (DOT),Environmental Foundati on, Natural Resources Conservati on Services (NRCS), and NASA. He is currently a reviewer for majorgeotechnical and transportati on-related journals.
Focus Areas: Advanced geotechnical site characterization, earthen structures, cold region ground engineering, deepfoundati ons, sustainable soil stabilization techniques.

Anshul Wankhede is currently working as an Assistant Project Manager at Caltrans and has been with the organizati on for over5 years. In this role, he manages and coordinates complex transportati on projects, ensuring they are delivered within scope,schedule, and budget. Prior to his current positi on, he served as a Bridge Design Engineer within the Division of EngineeringServices, where he was responsible for designing and reviewing bridge projects in accordance with AASHTO LRFD specifi cati ons,as well as conducti ng seismic risk assessments for local agency bridges. Additi onally, Anshul held the role of Assistant METS Representati ve at Caltrans' Material Engineering and Testi ng Services,where he provided material engineering experti se, conducted quality assurance, performed facility audits, and preparedtechnical reports. He also worked as an Assistant Structure Representati ve, overseeing constructi on inspecti ons and ensuringcompliance with contract documents, Caltrans standards, and project plans. Anshul has a strong foundati on in both technicaland project management disciplines, holding a M.S. in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering), a M.S. in Project Management,and a B.E. in Civil Engineering. Throughout his career, Anshul has acti vely contributed to research and innovati on, serving as a Public Aff airs Offi cer atInnovati on Committ ee in Caltrans and collaborati ng on the research of cutti ng-edge technologies such as the Ultra-High PowerDensity Roadway Piezoelectric Energy Harvesti ng System. He is also an engaged member of various TRB technical committ ees,demonstrati ng his commitment to advancing the transportati on industry through research, collaborati on, and conti nuousimprovement.
