As a former coach for the NBA Summer Pro League, I have to agree with head coach Rimas (Kurtinaitis) that it is the role of the coach to draw such play for his team.
Lithuania had ties with coach Phil Jackson, because he admired LT basketball for its depth, strategic plays & youth influence by his friend of Lithuanian heritage (coming from the times of Frank Lubin). Why do I mention it here?
It's time, not only acknowledge the LT-Phil Jackson ties but also study game ending plays by Phil Jackson.
He most often loved to space the floor, NOT to get into overcrowding ball near out of bound place in tensed seconds of the game.

NOTE #2:
I graduated from Vilnius basketball school during my school years. Vilnius team won the Lithuanian championship. My tiny school, #35 (King Mindaugas' current school), claimed the City championship against all odds, and the Mega schools of the capital of Lithuania (Salomeika, 23, etc.). That year, I accidentally tapped into internal visualization, meditation flow. It helped me enormously. Later, when Phil Jackson was preaching the meditation, I knew what he was talking about from my own experience. A few decades passed, and Taylor Alan summarized PJ spiritual philosophy, expanding the practice to make it accessible to all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zVYmSxFjGI. 🏀 🤗
My many years of experience in playing competitive basketball taught me to dissect the game fundamentals in the context of high-stakes moments. One of the lessons I taught NBA SPL players was to change dribble from running dribble (free space) to *sliding dribble (crowded space).
*Sliding dribble = a dribble on sliding footwork with the semi-back to the defender & extended elbow formation to widen position.
In case of Sirvydis' dribble and his fall at the end of the game - that's the case when such a switch is a necessity or the outcome is severe.
#RimasKurtinaitis @BasketNews_com
Pagarbiai,
