Editions

The Tractatus problematicus consists of 18 problemata (Albertism vs. Thomism), preceded by an introduction in which Heymericus argues against the moderni (Nominalism). This introduction has been labeled Contra modernos.

Below you can view / download my editions of the Problemata 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 and of the introductory part Contra modernos.

Edition method

The edition method is explained in detail here (in Dutch).

Three things you certainly need to keep in mind:

1. The editions are based on manuscript V. Corrupt readings of V are corrected according to some or all of the other witnesses.

2. Manuscript St is severely damaged. Illegible readings of St are not in the apparatus criticus.

3. The apparatus fontium is incomplete.
