Trees for Tribs 05/06/2012
This Spring we once again were involved in the Trees for Tribs program. We planted at two locations in Walden this year on the Tin Brook. With the help of 60+ volunteers, we planted 200 trees and shrubs along the Tin Brook in Walden, New York on May 6th, 2012. We met at Wooster Grove Park at Noon and after planting about 65 trees and shrubs there we then went and planted the rest of the trees and shrubs along the Tin Brook in Walden Estates. Below is how we decided where to plant this year and how it looked before the plantings.
Trees for Tribs 2012
The first one is located behind the homes on Watkins Drive in Walden. You can see the area from the bridge on Walden Estates Road on your way into Walden Estates. This area could use some trees and shrubs near the Tin Brook. The following pictures are of the area we would be interested in planting some trees and shrubs.

The second area on the Tin Brook is at Wooster Grove Park. This past year during the hurricane and tropical storm, much of this area was under water. Behind the playground there are some trees from a previous planting as well as some much larger ones. We feel that some shrubs could be used in this area and maybe even a few trees. There does not seem to be any shrubs left in this area. As you can see in the following pictures.
In another part of the park nearer to Hill Street there are some large trees but no vegetation. This would be a good area for some shrubs and possibly some additional trees. Please see the pictures below of this area.
