Hebrew Chapter and Verse Numbers

Hebrew Chapter and Verse Numbers and their English Equivalents

*These numerals are written as טו and טז rather than as the expected יה and יו to avoid divine names that are components of the tetragrammaton. (See more on the name of God here.) Thus טו and יה both equal 15, and טז and יו both equal 16; they are numerical equivalents.

Also please remember that sometimes the chapter and verse numbers differ in Hebrew and many English translations. See e.g. the chart of such differences in The Jewish Study Bible, ed. Adele Berlin and Marc Zvi Brettler (Second edition; Oxford Univ. Press, 2014), 2234-5.
