Open source ITK implementation of the spherical demons
Post date: Aug 6, 2009 7:24:37 PM
Luis Ibanez, Michel Audette and Thomas Yeo have been working towards an ITK implementation of our spherical demons algorithm initially presented at MICCAI 2009:
- Boon Thye Thomas Yeo, Mert Sabuncu, Tom Vercauteren, Nicholas Ayache, Bruce Fischl, and Polina Golland. "Spherical Demons: Fast Surface Registration." Proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI 2008), September 6 - 10 2008, New York, NY (pdf file)
This ITK source code has been released in the form of three Insight Journal submissions:
- Rotational Registration of Spherical Surfaces Represented as QuadEdge Meshes by Ibanez L., Audette M., Yeo B.T., Golland P.
- Iterative Smoothing of Field Data in Spherical Meshes by Ibanez L., Yeo B.T., Golland P.
- Spherical Demons Registration of Spherical Surfaces by Ibanez L., Audette M., Yeo B.T., Goland P.
Of course the initial matlab code can still be found on Thomas webpage.
The Insight Journal is an Open Access on-line publication covering the domain of medical image processing and visualization. The unique characteristics of the Insight Journal include:
- Open-access to articles, data, code, and reviews
- Open peer-review that invites discussion between reviewers and authors
- Emphasis on reproducible science via automated code compilation and testing
- Support for continuous revision of articles, code, and revie
So if you find this code useful, please post a review on the Insight Journal.
