Tom headed to San Francisco for a June conference and Joan got to tag along! We spent 6 days there with Greg and Heda Hahn who were also working our booth at the conference.
It was a great time!
Good food at Alioto's on the Wharf, Scala's Bistro near Union Square, Sear's Fine Food for breakfast, Tommy Toy's near China Town and North Beach Pizza.
We visited the Legion of Honor where we saw "The Thinker" by Rodin and Monet's "Water Lillies." We saw some great art in the galleries of Sausalito and a chapel that is a replica of the St. Francis Chapel in Assisi Italy, complete with a marble floor that was several hundred years old (Pietra Rosa).
We rode the ferry to Sausalito where I saw a dolphin breach the surface and a seal swimming on its back. The views of San Francisco's hills and the Golden Gate bridge were spectacular. The weather was wonderful with cool mornings and warm afternoons.
We enjoyed the classic musical revue "Beach Blanket Babylon" and rode the cable cars. Joan and Greg and Heda had an Irish Coffee at Buena VIsta Cafe while Tom had a Guinness.
And it was a happening town this week! Apple was also having a conference and the North Beach Festival was going on. The U.S. Open had golf fan's all over the place and Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants pitched a perfect game at Candlestick Park.
All in all, a great time in San Francisco!
