Co-Investigator: US Department of State: A training project in public administration and policy research between the University of Georgia (UGA) (in the United States) and the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) (in the Republic of Georgia) for university faculty members and advanced doctoral students located in the Republic of Georgia. Scholars from all disciplines in the social sciences with interests in various areas of public policy are eligible to participate. Principal Investigator: World Values Survey (WVS) and the Social Research Center at AUCA: principal investigator for the World Values Survey in the Kyrgyz Republic June/October 2003; developing the questionnaire instruments in Russian and Kyrgyz languages, managing the data collection and coding teams nationally, personally collected data in the field (about 15% of the sample size), and control-checks of the 10% of survey after the project, maintaining reports and correspondence with the WVS data management center. Household Survey Coordinator: Small Arms Survey: supervising the field survey collection of household data in the Fergana Valley, Kyrgyz Republic, October/November 2003. The survey dealt with the attitudes towards and perceptions about small arms possession in the border regions of south-western part of Kyrgyzstan (Osh and Batken regions).
