About ME
I was born in Bhola, a South-Western district of Bangladesh. The district, also the largest island in the country, is pretty close to the Bay of Bengal and full of natural beauties. Inhabitants of the district are very simple and cordial. Majority of the population is involved in agriculture while significant number of people are also involved in fishing.
I was studying here up to my secondary education and then I moved to Barisal, the divisional city, for higher secondary education. I stayed here for two years and then moved to Dhaka for university education. I stayed in Dhaka approximately seven years before I moved to Sweden for higher education.
In Europe I have been studying in Sweden, Spain, Holland, and France for three years in total. After finishing my studies I did come back home in 2008.
At home I joined the academia and still on that. However, very often, I ask myself why do I teach rather than doing something else? I had a very pious perception about the profession, but the reality is not as cute as I was thinking about this career path. I initially joined in the Business Administration Discipline of Khulna University and after one year and some I moved to my home university, Jahangirnagar University (JU)in the Department of Finance & Banking (F&B JU).
I was happy with Khulna University; the university was full of liveliness and it had a teaching environment I do like. The city is also nice as it has some rural flavor. But I moved to Jahangirnagar University. I was deeply attracted by the fact that in JU with the new department I would be able to show my creativity and its a challenge. I took the challenge as I like to do so and I think I am happy with my performance and achievements so far with this university. At the very early stage of my career, I have become chairman of the department. I am learning a lot from this position. Another great learning place is the Syndicate; as a member of JU syndicate I really learn a lot.
Still there is a 'BUT'. I wanted to do something with my stay in this profession. Could I do that? The answer is 'not completely'. Why? I think its more or less absurd in countries like Bangladesh where politics defines education rather than politics being shaped by education.
I like traveling; I am somehow crazy to know the unknown. I have a plan to learn playing guitar, but could not manage time for that yet. I also love photography and I do shoot whenever I get chance.
