Myanmar has a long coastal line as it is located on the east fringe of the Bay of Bengal. Myanmar coast line can be divisible into three coastal areas: Rakhine, Ayeyawady and Mon-Tanintharyi coasts.
Marine mammalogy is a new subject to Myanmar. It start to developed a few years ago. Whale skeletons are kept at some departments and universities and they are waiting for further study .
Marine mammals can be sighted in all coastal areas. Accidental killing and stranding of the marine mammals are also reported from the coastal areas. You can download my bycatch report just by click on the title below.
