Locomotive Revolutionary Movement (LRM)

Originally, 'Arry and Bert worked at the Sodor Ironworks, but, as they belonged to another owner, it became a hassle to keep bringing them back. As such, the owners of the Ironworks decided to buy an engine to work at the Ironworks permanently. As it was cheapest to get one from Russia, they went to an engine yard there and found three engines named Vladimir, Karl, and Marx. At first, they decided to buy only Vlad, who was a very big engine, despite being classified as a 'shunter', but as they watched him manage the shunting and help the other two engines become better shunters, it was decided to buy all three.

However, Vlad was unhappy that engines such as the Steam Team and the Numbered Diesels were so popular, and wanted some of the lesser-known and underappreciated engines to have their due, too. As such, he began a 'revolution' of sorts with Karl and Marx, and some other engines that joined up with them later on, so that those underrated characters in 3WSR would see their day. It's unsure how that'll come about, but things are certainly heating up for the Locomotive Revolutionary Movement, or LRM for short.

Vladimir, usually called Vlad, is the mastermind behind the Locomotive Revolutionary Movement. His Communist-like (but nowhere near as evil) ideas are what the movement works on, and as the 'boss' of the engines, they call him 'Boss Vlad'. He is a Russian TEM18V Diesel.

Vlad's fellow-workers and helpers, Karl and Marx help out the bigger diesel in the work at the Ironworks, and in the 'revolution'. The call the big diesel 'Boss Vlad', as he is a very good friend to them, but also in charge of their work for the most part. They are Russian Twin-Axle Diesel-Battery Shunters.

Derek is a kind diesel engine and friends with a lot of the other engines on Sodor. However, when he first arrived on the Island, he was a brand-new diesel engine, and suffered from teething troubles - specifically, his cooling system. This was never fully rectified, and in his frequent visits to the Works, he is treated poorly - even at the Dieselworks. He joined the revolution so that, if they succeed, all diesel will get equal rights when being repaired.

Neville is a big, black tender engine who, unlike other steam engines, has a square build, making him look sort of like a diesel. The others even thought that he was friends with the diesels when he first came to Sodor, and thus a nasty rumor about Neville spread throughout the yard. However, it was eventually cleared up, and Thomas even rescued Neville when he nearly fell off a bridge!

Despite this, Neville never really got over the fact that the others had not liked him at first. He joined the LRM so that he could have his voice heard, and to get back at the other engines for their prejudice.

One of the laziest engines on the Island, Dennis tried to take advantage of Thomas once on the latter's day off, but learned his lesson when he fell into a ditch. However, he's still lazy - and found that resting in between trains was a hassle. He joined the revolution so that if they succeed, he can rest whenever he wants - and consequently not have to do any work.

Billy was more or less a brat when he came to Sodor, and was very rude to Thomas - though he soon learned his lesson! Billy joined the LRM to fulfill his own 'agenda', but it's unknown what that is as of now.

Barry the Rescue Engine has been largely forgotten about. Rescued from the scrapyards on Barry Island, Christopher Awdry planned a book about him in the Railway Series, but it was cancelled as kids wanted more 'Thomas'. Barry joined the revolution so that he wouldn't be forgotten about for good.

Straight outta Misty Island, Bash, Dash & Ferdinand, also known as the Logging Locos (or the 'Logging Losers' as the engines sometimes call them), joined the LRM after Misty Island was destroyed, so that the Sudrian engines would 'truly fear their name'. Vlad soon got tired of them, however, so he tricked them into being the group's 'sacrificial lambs'. The trio are currently stuck in the ruins of the burnt Misty Island...
