Pennsylvania Ranks 13th in Global Natural Gas Production

Pennsylvania produces 6.13 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day, according to a report by the American Petroleum Institute.

That would be enough for it to rank 13th in the world if it were a country.

So vast is the wealth of natural gas locked into dense rock deep beneath Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia and Ohio that some geologists estimate it's enough to supply the entire East Coast for 50 years.
