Description
The “Aqu@thèque” project consists in elaborating an information terminal dedicated to aquariums. This system allows a visitor of an aquarium to select on a touch-sensitive screen fishes that are filmed by a video camera in one of the tank of the aquarium. These fishes are automatically identified and a virtual representation of the selected fish is shown on another screen. Educational information about observed fishes is also put on the screen. A second screen presents a virtual tank. The user can then collect fishes identified on the touch-sensitive screen. This screen reproduces the natural environment where the fish lives in the presence of fishes that it is closed usually and that the behavior is also modeled. This project bases on two original elements :
The automatic detection and recognition of fishes in a tank of an aquarium.
The behavioral modeling of virtual fishes by multi-agents methods.
My contribution concerns the part of monving fish detection in the tanks.
