Guy Deutscher studied mathematics and earned a Ph.D. in linguistics at the University of Cambridge. He was a research fellow at St John's College, Cambridge, and at the University of Leiden (Department of Languages and Cultures of the Ancient Near East), and is currently an Honorary Research Fellow at the School of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures in the University of Manchester .
The Unfolding of Language is his second book. His new book, Through the Language Glass, will appear in June 2010.
He has also written for The Times, the New York Times, and the SĂĽddeutsche Zeitung
