02.25 "TR!P" to FRANKFURT posted by Eiken
As most of you know, I lost my passport during the new year trip to Berlin...
Some of you may know that someone in Kadewe, the second largest shopping mall in Europe after Harrods, picked it up and sent it to the Japanese Embassy in Berlin.
It was then sent from Berlin to Japan, then Japan to the Japanese Embassy in Frankfurt. I received a call recently from them telling me to go pick it up.
So I left Karlsruhe at 10am and arrived in Frankfurt at around 11am.
After 5 mins of tram ride from the main station, I finally arrived at the tower where the Embassy was in.
The woman who was at the counter was such a BITCH. I seriously don't know what her problem was, but maaaaaaaaan, was she a bitch.....
After a long wait, I was finally reunited with my lovely passport.
One of the main missions of the day was to visit this Ramen shop run by a Japanese.
After about 10 mins walk, I got there at around 12 which was exactly the opening time.

The soup was WARM!!!!! I love ramen when it's steaming HOT BABY!! It was so luke warm.....What is the matter with Frankfurt today....
My second mission was to visit "American Apparel". American Apparel is kinda expensive, but have funky clothes which I dig alot.
Surprisingly, the shop beside American Apparel was 京都センター・・・・what?!
I went inside and found a Japanese lady, and we talked a bit about....stuff.
Shortly after I left the Kyoto Center, I found an art gallery at the corner of an intersection and was intrigued by the paintings inside. I spent about 30 minutes inside looking at the paintings and sculptures and stuff.
The entrance
Nice eh?
I also came across a street artist, or an artist selling his work on the street.
Most of his paintings were themed towards New York, where our own TR!P members Gucci, Sari and Shohei are freezing to death right now.
I found a new skateboard/snowboard shop with tons of nice t-shirts and shoes.
CHECK THEM KICKS OUT!!
Is that heaven? or heavenly-looking earth?
Up until now has been an intro of my song "Frankfurt".
The chorus was this new shopping mall with a hole in it. I think the construction workers made a mistake....
There was a Hollister shop, and it was catching everyone's attention for one reason.
Two hot men standing outside in a swimming shorts.
For some reason, their nose were painted white.....
The interior of the shop was unlike any others! It was build like a beach house with a loud surfing music, smell of a Coconut sex wax (surfing wax), surfing video, dark lightings, cool clothes....
It was just so entertaining and I could not stop smiling at the atmosphere......and the lady staffs were smoking......
After kissing the hot men goodbye, I continued by adventure throughout the mall, and found a G-star raw store that I have been so looking forward to visiting.
G-star raw is the only brand I know that sells Sarouel (サルエル) pants in Europe, and I have been looking for a Sarouel denim for a pretty long time.
A male staff was wearing a Sarouel which looked REALLY cool on him, so I struck up a conversation with him and talked about the style of denim and fashion in Japan. He knew about Ebisu, and also about how people in Europe think that the Sarouel style is kinda for gay......
But think about skinny denim! When they originally came out for men, everyone thought they were gay, but look at them now. All skinny and shit.
Unfortunately, all the denims were around 170 euros, which I had not intention of paying....too bad...
For the way back to Karlsruhe, I used something called Mitfahrgelegenheit, which is a system where a driver with free seats in his/her car posts his path on a site, and people can search on the site and ride along at a cheap price.
The guy who I found was really nice, and was able to ride back to Karlsruhe for 7 euros, where I would have to pay 18.50 euro if I took the train like I usually do.
There was another girl who rode along with me, and she was pretty damn cute. I'm loving the system even more now.
Oh well, that was my TR!P to Frankfurt. It was damn awesome. I hope you guys could join me next time!

02.20 津軽三味線 with 大野敬正 posted by Eiken
A supposedly famous 津軽三味線 player called 大野敬正 came to Karlsruhe, so I took a friend to go see him. I was looking forward to experiencing the real traditional style shamisen for the first time.
The concert started with him alone on the stage playing a nice traditional kinda piece. But for the second song, 2 weird looking men came out, one of them carrying a trombone...."Oh shit....."
Then the nightmare started.....They were trying to mix modern music and shamisen together, kinda like Yoshida Brothers who we all know and love. But they were just terrible....
My friend looking disappointed after the concert
Finally a message from Keisho Ohno himself : Danke sehr schoen!
