Steve Moore

Steve Moore created what was to be Christopher's final project: the animated short The Indescribable Nth, a sort of modern-day fairytale about a boy with his heart in a snow dome. After watching the short online, I contacted Steve about the experience and we had a very lovely little interview about Christopher. He also told Christopher's widow Elen Orson Carysfort about me!

Lucky Ladybug - What made you decide you wanted Christopher involved in your project?

SM - Chris’ wife, Elen Orson, was editing on the short. I told her I was looking for a narrator who sounded like he was from one of those old nature shows - very straight and dry. She said her husband had done a ton of nature shows. She played a demo tape and that was it - he was the narrator.

Lucky Ladybug - How did you go about getting in touch with him? Was it easy to make contact?

SM - See #1.

Lucky Ladybug - What did he think of the idea of the short?

SM - He got a kick out of working on an animated film. He seemed to enjoy getting to be funny for a change. It also gave him a chance to work with his wife.

Lucky Ladybug - What was it like to work with him? Do you have any special memories in particular of showing him the script or the recording session(s)?

SM - Chris was sick from cancer when I worked with him. He was frail, but his voice was still very strong. The Indescribable Nth was his last last gig, I believe.

Lucky Ladybug - According to IMDB, the short was publicly released a couple of weeks after Christopher's death. Was he able to see the finished product before its public release?

SM - We had a little premiere party for crew, family, and friends in Beverly Hills and Chris was well enough to attend. He was very proud to be a part of it - a very important part. He passed away soon after.
