Teen Corner - Self-Love

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me

The Mission of the Self Love for Teens is the promotion of self-love, self-respect and personal empowerment.

The Self Love Session for Teens at The New Shiloh Holiness Church are designed to develop individuals with healthy or high self-esteem characterized by tolerance and respect for others, individuals who accept responsibility for their actions, have integrity, take pride in their accomplishments, who are self-motivated, willing to take risks, capable of handling criticism, loving and lovable, seek the challenge and stimulation of worthwhile and demanding goals, and take command and control of their lives. In other words, we need to help foster the development of people who have healthy or authentic self-esteem because they trust their own being to be life affirming, constructive, responsible and trustworthy.

These Sessions allow the teens to express their individual self-love needs and network with Youth Counselors and Leaders who guide them thru the basic principles of Self – Love.

Self Love or Self Esteem means you really like yourself, both inside and out. It refers both to how you look and what you believe in. This is also called “positive” or “high” self-esteem.

As a teen, you now have more responsibility to choose between right and wrong. Your parents are no longer constantly by your side. Positive self-esteem gives you the courage to be your own person, believe in your own values and make the right decision when the pressure is on.

Peer pressure: Your friends can put a lot of pressure on you.

Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thing own understanding. (6) In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.
