Windows Longhorn build 3706 is a Milestone 3 build of Windows Longhorn, which was leaked on 23 May 2006 by c0d3rz.

Features

Desktop Composition

An interface has now been added to enable DCE. Right-click on the desktop, click Display Properties, and click Enable DCE.

The Desktop Composition Engine (DCE) from 3683 has been updated to include animations. When minimizing windows, they will shrink to their location on the taskbar. When closing windows, they will spin around and move while fading away.

New Explorer Libraries

Two new Libraries have been added to Explorer, "Picture & Video" and "Music".

Avalon Display Properties Update

The new Avalon Display Properties panel has seen a few changes, namely, "Scale and Resolution" and "Display Connection Settings" now work, though the panel is disabled by default. To enable the new Display Properties panel, paste this in Notepad as a .reg file and run the newly created file:

Sidebar

In this build, when the Sidebar is enabled, the Sidebar and Taskbar will automatically combine to allow for the functionality of both GUI elements in the same place.
