David Synder Museum of Zoology

The David Synder Museum of Zoology (DSMZ) was established in 1963 and named in honor of the former Austin Peay State University professor and zoologist, Dr. David H. Snyder. The DSMZ is located in the Sunquist Science Complex on the main APSU campus. The Museum is now home to over 50,000 research quality collections of amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, and fishes that play a vital role in education, outreach, and research. The Museum also serves as a major repository for collections of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
