CODE OF CONDUCT - PRINCIPAL
Principal Class Code of Practice
The Principal will:
Play a strong leadership role in implementing and communicating The School Charter in the school community
Manage the development and operation of school financial and administrative systems
Provide leadership, advice, information and support to staff
Review and monitor the effectiveness of school practices and their impact on student learning
Ensure that appropriate policies and programs are developed and effectively implemented
Lead all staff in the implementation of the school teaching and learning, assessment and discipline policies
Communicate high expectations for individual achievement and behaviour
Ensure an effective, safe and harassment free environment for students and staff
Ensure that regular and effective lines of communication are established between all members of staff and the school community.
Plan collaboratively for the professional development, welfare and growth of staff
Provide performance feedback to individual staff, students and the school community
Build a school culture that recognises the contributions and achievements of students, staff and parents
Encourage and facilitate parental and community involvement in student learning and school decision-making
Establish and maintain networks of support between Hungarian communities, support services and agencies
Actively promote the school in the local, wider and education communities
Follow and promote the Teacher’s Code of Conduct from The Victorian Institute of Teaching.
Ensure that the community is kept informed of the school’s activities and achievements through:
school newsletter
email messages to parents
Facebook Hungarian Language School Inc. Group
displays of student work
contributions to and reports in the local media
the principal and the executive director speaking to community groups
