2. Mission

The Hungarian Language School Inc. is a community of learners. The school’s main aim is being committed to best practice and providing innovative learning experiences that foster the skills, values and attitudes needed in the future.

The school is committed to:

• providing students with the opportunity to learn the knowledge, skills and behaviours relevant to the Hungarian language.

• fostering students’ intercultural knowledge and awareness of language as a system 

• developing students’ knowledge of the connections between language and culture, and how culture is embedded throughout the communication system 

• developing students’ cultural self-awareness to be able to rationally discuss and compare cultural differences

• providing students with a broad range of learning experiences in order to prepare them for the many challenges in their lives

• engendering in students a sense of confidence, pride and self awareness

• treating students as individuals with their own needs, abilities, interests and aspirations

• providing teachers with professional development experiences which enable them to model lifelong learning for our students and to ensure they can respond to the individual learning needs of students

• nurture positive and supportive working relationships with the parents and the ethnic community
