Ph.D Fellowship

A 3-years Ph.D. fellowship in the Cosconati lab is open to people that graduated outside of Italy. For these candidates, benefits are provided including economical support for relocation and travel.

The project will be the development of in silico tools for the identification of biologically active compounds. In particular, the candidate will be in charge of further optimizing a machine learning software that has been already developed in the lab (PyRMD) and integrate it with massive structure-based docking calculations. The developed tools will be employed for the discovery of new lead compounds against cancer targets currently studied in the lab.

The fellow will be required to spend at least 3 months and max. 1 year in another laboratory outside of Italy to gain additional experience in the field of molecular modeling. During the period abroad the fellowship is increased by 50% of the salary.

Prospective candidates should preferentially hold a master degree in pharmaceutical sciences or chemistry. Prior knowledge of molecular modeling techniques is required as well as programming skills (preferentially Python).

Application details will be provided when the position will be officially opened on the University website (around the end of July). The fellowship should start in Oct. 2022 but some flexibility is allowed on the starting date due to immigration issues.
