How to Participate
Students from the Mabel I. Wilson School in Cumberland vote for the Chickadee Award.
Schools, home-school groups, and libraries in Maine are invited to participate in the Chickadee Award project. Read aloud the picture books on this year's nominated list then students may vote for their favorite book in the spring. You may also download the booklet from this website. The booklet includes activity suggestions and curriculum connections.
After your students are done voting, please submit your school or library's vote totals via the online ballot. 2023-2024 Voting Link
All votes should be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2024.

Please email the committee if you wish to nominate a title. The book must be published in the calendar year we are accepting titles for. Currently reading 2024 titles, for consideration for the 2025-2026 award.
We also welcome photos of Chickadee Award projects, bulletin boards, voting and other related events in your schools and libraries. You may email photos to mainechickadeeaward@gmail.com.
